the individual made their community feel, not what they did in life.
A person’s community is more than were they live. It includes their work relationships, civic and religious organizations, clubs, ecetera. All are areas were the individual could impact the lives of others

The American Life Honor Story
The concept of the American Life Honor was thought of circa 2014 at the end of the naval career of Sailor Mark H. Robinson. Mark participated in many military funeral honors ceremonies and wondered why such an honor wasn’t afforded Americans who had not served in the military. He felt that just because an American didn’t serve in the military, didn’t mean they loved this country any less than those who served. He then followed his calling to create the ultimate and most appropriate life honor for non military Americans. He created a standardized but impactful keepsake and ceremony that allows a person to be honored for their efforts in preserving the nation’s freedoms and liberties. The American Life Honor was created to allow someone in a person’s life community to honor them for the positive impact.
A representation similar to the American flag diagonally displayed at approximately 45 degrees with the colors of purple, black, and white. The white stripes represent the liberties of the nation and the black stripes represent society's efforts in carrying out the principles of the constitution. The four stars shown represent the fundamental freedoms outlined in the 1941 State of the Union address to Congress.
The Four Freedoms

The ability to express one’s self
The ability to worship or not worship

The ability to provide for one’s self and family

The ability to live in a safe environment
The purple field, which holds the stars, represents the individual's efforts in preserving the freedoms and liberties of the United States of America. The opportunity for success afforded each American. Combined, they create an "honor" to the recipient based on the recipient’s impact on someone in his life community.
